Ian Waititu

Position: Economist | Data Analysis
I’m Ian Waititu, an aspiring Economist and Data Analyst passionate about using data to understand how policies, markets, and economic decisions shape real lives. What began as curiosity—questioning why some policies succeed while others fail—has evolved into a clear purpose: using evidence and analysis to drive better decisions and meaningful impact.
I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Economics, with a strong focus on econometrics, economic modeling, and policy analysis. I complement this academic foundation with practical skills in Python, Stata, Power BI, and Excel, which I use to turn complex datasets into clear insights and compelling visual stories that inform action.
My professional experience at the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) provided firsthand exposure to public-sector finance, regulation, and accountability. Working within a regulated environment deepened my appreciation for how rigorous analysis and transparent data can strengthen institutions and improve public service delivery.
I thrive in environments that value clarity, collaboration, and impact. Whether analyzing trends, building dashboards, or contributing to research and policy discussions, my focus remains the same: to use data with purpose, communicate insights with precision, and contribute to solutions that create sustainable, real-world change.
